Following Cheney’s removal, GOP congresswoman Elise Stefanik announced her candidacy for House Republican Conference chair. Stefanik also has the endorsements of Trump, McCarthy, and Steve Scalise, the House Minority Whip.
This morning, former President Trump released a statement blasting Cheney as a “warmonger” with no personality. Trump then predicted that either CNN or MSNBC will hire the former GOP leader.
