In the political world, Democrats and Republicans alike each have their own issues to face.

On the left-wing, incumbent Joe Biden has competition from fellow Democrats Dean Phillips and Marianne Williamson. On the right, Republican Nikki Haley is the one and only challenger left against former President Trump. 11 other GOP candidates who were once in the race since dropped out.

As political division, polarization, and hyperpartisanship continue to escalate, some Americans are expressing exasperation with both of the country’s major political parties.

This paves the way for third-party contenders like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Jill Stein, and Cornel West to emerge in the 2024 presidential race. According to Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, members of his party ought to be concerned about this.

While speaking with ABC “This Week,” Newsom opined that the aforementioned hopefuls lack the support to win, but can still operate as “spoilers” in the election. The left-wing governor then said Democrats should feel a sense of “worry,” but ultimately set their sights on “[controlling] the controllables.”
