At this time, DeSantis is gearing up to seek another term as the governor of Florida; however, he could still very much make a run for president in 2024. In a recent straw poll conducted by the Western Conservative Summit of desired 2024 Republican contenders, DeSantis led Trump by several points.
Several days ago, news broke of the tragic building collapse in Surfside, Florida. However, certain figures within leftist media are now facing accusations of politicizing the tragedy to attack DeSantis.

For instance, reporter Hannah Dreier falsely claimed that the Florida governor waited one day after the collapse before deploying necessary emergency relief. In actuality, however, the emergency response in Surfside commenced moments after the tragedy.
