The rising popularity of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is shaking up the political world. At this time, the Republican governor remains a rock star amongst conservatives, due to his rejection of sweeping government edicts and control.

A closer look at DeSantis' rejection of tyranny

Just earlier this month, DeSantis won against the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in federal district court. Prior to Florida bringing suit against the CDC, the organization attempted to bar cruises from leaving ports in the Sunshine State; a judge in federal district court ultimately determined that the CDC does not have this authority.

Governor DeSantis also became the first governor in America to have statewide laws on the books banning businesses and the government from implementing vaccine passport programs. DeSantis first issued an executive order; shortly thereafter, the Florida state legislature codified the order before DeSantis signed it into law.

Amid DeSantis' surging stardom, many Democrats are growing increasingly apprehensive about the possibility of the Florida governor running for president in 2024.

Leftist fears of DeSantis

At this time, DeSantis is gearing up to seek another term as the governor of Florida; however, he could still very much make a run for president in 2024. In a recent straw poll conducted by the Western Conservative Summit of desired 2024 Republican contenders, DeSantis led Trump by several points.

Several days ago, news broke of the tragic building collapse in Surfside, Florida. However, certain figures within leftist media are now facing accusations of politicizing the tragedy to attack DeSantis.

For instance, reporter Hannah Dreier falsely claimed that the Florida governor waited one day after the collapse before deploying necessary emergency relief. In actuality, however, the emergency response in Surfside commenced moments after the tragedy.

DeSantis has also been very much active and involved in the process as well.

DeSantis Derangement Syndrome

Leftists first began targeting DeSantis after he resisted lockdowns, government mandates, and other anti-freedom restrictions. However, online left-wing thinkpieces and social media posts very much reveal leftist fears of a DeSantis presidential run.

Republicans are now coining baseless and meritless attacks against the Florida governor as "DeSantis Derangement Syndrome"; at this time, however, DeSantis has not declared whether he will run for president during 2024's election.
