Eric Trump then remarked that Democrats’ “war” against the United States flag and the nation itself is a significant reason why the former president ran for office. Trump later noted that if many of the people who profess their loathing for America could see other nations, they’d have a different perspective.
Later, the former first son explained that many of Democrats’ inflammatory remarks about America are distraction techniques, amid the failure of President Biden. Inflation, crime increases nationwide, and a Southern border in peril are merely a few examples of the aforementioned failures.
Is patriotism now political?
The New York Times’ article about the American flag makes the case that love of country is now political. This piece even stated that individuals who fly U.S. flags on the back of pickup trucks and whatnot are likely Republicans; this implies that only Republicans and conservatives can love America.
Across the board, the left and the right had largely different reactions to July 4th weekend. Not every leftist tweeted or spoke out against Independence Day; however, none of the folks who did were Republicans.
