He’s profited around $1.8 million dollars from Medicaid for the unnecessary IV sedation services.

If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $100,000 as well as restitution to Medicaid and his partners.

Included in the case, is his office manager, Shauna Leigh Cranford who was the one who introduced IV sedation to the dental office. She also performed the procedure on patients without having a proper license to practice dentistry.

In the courtroom, Lookhart apologized to his clients. According to his attorney, he is sorry for the behavior that left patients feeling unsafe, but is not guilty of some of the other charges. Lookhart maintains his innocence and is in the process of fighting most of the charges.
