Musk’s popularity on Twitter is just one aspect of his larger-than-life persona. He is known for his work with SpaceX, Tesla, and other ventures that are pushing the boundaries of what is possible.

The busy CEO also advocates for the ethical development of Artificial intelligence. And recently gave up his ownership interest in Open AI the parent company of CHATgpt. Along with other tech titans, he has called for a halt to the development of new AI technology to protect humanity.

Musk’s record-setting feat on Twitter is not the first time he has made headlines this year. He was awarded the Guinness World Record for the largest loss of personal fortune in history. He paid 44 billion for Twitter and saw the value plunge after his purchase. And his ownership interest in his electric vehicle company, Tesla, also took a hit.

In early March 2023, Tesla stock recovered and according to Bloomberg, Elon Musk was once again the richest man in the world. He may have made the Guinness World Record Book for a 3rd time as the billionaire that has been on top the most. In 2021, Elon Musk paid more taxes than anyone in the United States. Because of privacy concerns there is no category for US taxes. But if there was, he would be the record-holder there.
