He testified that he got $60 million in bribes outright. And hauled in an extra $80 million that Jho Low asked him to “hold” in an offshore shell company.
Leissner has pleaded guilty and is cooperating with federal prosecutors. Ng has pleaded not guilty.
Ng says he’s not guilty
Leissner was Ng’s boss at Goldman Sachs. Ng has always contended that he is the smallest fish in the 1MDB heist. And the only one being held accountable for the 2-billion-dollar fraud and bribery scheme.
Ng’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo of Brafman & Associates, told jurors in a February 14th court appearance that the U.S. The Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York is prosecuting the wrong guy.
“This is a massive crime with many guilty people—he’s just not one of them. Agnifilo added, “Tim Leissner uses people.”
