The Clarion-Ledger previously reported that a private investigator found a photograph of a naked 3-year-old girl and journals discussing relationships with children inside Vail’s Texas home. Jurors did not hear all of this evidence, but prosecutors said it underscored a long pattern of predatory behavior.

Families Prayers Answered

For the families, the verdict marked the end of decades of anguish.

Annette Craver Vail’s mother, Mary Rose, who spent 32 years seeking justice, called the conviction “a prayer answered.”
