The world of Legos is officially stepping onto one of tech’s biggest stages as the Lego Group prepares to host its first-ever press conference at CES 2026.

The milestone event signals a growing convergence between toys, technology, gaming, and sustainability, and it has created widespread speculation about what the iconic plastic brick maker may unveil when it takes the spotlight in Las Vegas.

Legos Enter CES for the First Time

For decades, CES has been dominated by consumer electronics giants such as LG, which traditionally opens press day with its highly produced keynote. This year, LG will once again set the tone with a presentation themed "Innovation in Tune with You." But 2026 also marks a notable shift: Legos are formally entering the CES conversation for the very first time.

The Lego Group has remained tight-lipped about its agenda, offering no official preview of announcements. That silence has only fueled speculation across the tech and toy industries, with analysts suggesting everything from video game announcements to high-profile Formula 1 collaborations.

As one industry watcher put it, “When Lego shows up at CES, it’s not about toys alone—it’s about how play intersects with technology, creativity, and culture.”

How to Watch the Lego 2026 Press Conference Live

The Lego Group’s CES press conference is scheduled for Monday, January 5, at 1:00 PM ET. While neither Lego nor the Consumer Technology Association has formally confirmed streaming details, the presentation is widely expected to be available via livestream.

If an official stream is not immediately announced, coverage will still be extensive. The team at Engadget is expected to liveblog the event with real-time updates and analysis. Readers can follow coverage directly at Engadget as more details are released.

What Might Legos Reveal at CES?

Although Lego has not confirmed any announcements, past appearances offer some clues. At CES 2025, Lego partnered with Sony to unveil the animated game Lego Horizon Adventures.

A similar gaming-focused announcement could happen in 2026, potentially highlighting Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.

There is also speculation that Lego may showcase its F1 Academy racing car, blending engineering, branding, and motorsports technology. While this would be less about a consumer product, it aligns with the emphasis on innovation and experiential tech.

Sustainability may also take center stage. Lego has committed to ambitious environmental goals, including reducing carbon emissions by 37% and making its bricks more sustainable by 2032. CES 2026 provides a global platform to reinforce those commitments.

Why Legos Presence Matters

The Conference runs from January 6 through January 9 in Las Vegas, and Lego’s presence underscores how play, digital experiences, and environmental responsibility are becoming core parts of the tech narrative.

“This is CES, not Toy Fair,” one analyst noted. “Whatever Lego brings, it’s likely to be more tech-centric than traditional sets.”

As the conference approaches, all eyes will be on how Legos redefine their role within the broader toy techno-ecosystem.
