New voter registration changes

For a while, Florida Democrats carried the advantage of having more registered voters in the state. Although, with the massive rise in new people moving to Florida, this voter registration advantage shifted to Republicans last year.

In 2022, Florida Republicans have more than 100,000 more registered voters in the state than Democrats. This also bodes very well for Governor DeSantis, seeing as he’s up for re-election this year.

When DeSantis first ran for (and won) the Florida governorship in 2018, Democratic voters in the state far outnumbered Republicans. It goes without saying that the added advantage in favor of the Florida GOP only serves to benefit DeSantis’ re-election chances.

Finally, the Florida governor has massive poll leads over every single Democrat running to unseat him.
