Governor DeSantis has not minced words on this issue. Like other conservatives, DeSantis believes no one should lose their job over these mandates. DeSantis has also noted the very individuals who were lauded nationwide as heroes in 2020 are the ones Democrats want to plunge into poverty if they don’t take a COVID vaccine.
This is not acceptable to the Florida governor; therefore, he’s making moves to prevent it from happening in the state of Florida.
DeSantis vs. Biden on vaccine mandates
The Florida governor’s found himself repeatedly sparring with the 46th president over COVID vaccine mandates. DeSantis maintains he will not step aside as Biden comes after Floridians’ jobs, healthcare decisions, and freedoms.
Biden, meanwhile, has made it clear he wants DeSantis and other opponents against vaccine mandates to get out of the way. However, the Florida governor’s publicly stated that won’t happen.
DeSantis is also of the view that Biden’s vaccine mandate is ultimately illegal and will not withstand legal challenges. Finally, the Florida governor’s said he has a duty to push back against overreach from the federal government.
