The governor will likely secure more endorsements from Democratic Party leaders during the convention and before the primary election on Sept. 13.
Nixon claims Gov. Cuomo doesn’t have progressive credentials
Nixon expressed confidence with her campaign even if she the underdog in the governor’s race. She claimed that Gov. Cuomo is not a real Democrat and she is better choice for New Yorkers.
In a statement on Monday, Nixon said, “New York Democrats deserve to have at least one actual Democratic candidate for governor at their state convention. As Governor Cuomo has said himself, he’s run this state in a way that would make any Republican proud.”
In addition, the actress said, “The Governor and his allies have bullied progressive community groups and rallied the full force of the big money establishment because they know he doesn’t have any progressive credentials to stand on. But I won’t be scared out of the room. New Yorkers deserve a choice.”
