Hollywood actor Gabriel Jarret, renowned for his roles in films such as "Real Genius" and "Apollo 13," is embroiled in a controversy. Jarret, 53, has been caught in a pedophile sting operation conducted by social media vigilantes known as the Creep Catcher Unit.

Jarret stands accused of sending sexually explicit messages to an individual he believed to be a 13-year-old girl.

The actor rose to fame with his compelling portrayal of the young genius Mitch in the 1985 classic "Real Genius," where he shared the screen with Val Kilmer.

His career extended beyond this iconic role. He was featured in films like "Last Days" in addition to making appearances on television shows such as "The West Wing" and "21 Jump Street."

The Pedophile Sting Operation Unveiled

The Creep Catcher Unit, a group dedicated to exposing online predators, meticulously set up a decoy account to ensnare Jarret. 

The Creep Catcher Unit aka the CC Unit is a California-based movement founded in 2018. Their goal is to protect minors from online predators by exposing online predators. They aim to catch these predators, raise community awareness, and get tougher laws.

According to the website over 240 online predators have been exposed and 25-plus have been arrested with many convicted for their crimes.

The Unit claims to have been in contact with Jarret for over a year, during which he allegedly sent explicit messages to their decoy account, presuming it to be a young girl. 

According to a report by MailOnline, the actor had planned to meet the "teenager" in Santa Monica on a fateful Sunday night.

Allegations and Denials:

Screenshots obtained by the Creep Catcher Unit reveal the actor engaging in explicit conversations, apparently convinced that he was communicating with an underage individual. 

Jarret, in his defense, maintained that he believed the girl was of legal age, stating that he was meeting her solely to stop her from incessantly messaging him.

Jarret, in a now-deleted video, asserted, "I'm not meeting a 13-year-old girl." He elaborated, "I've got someone that was calling me again and again, and I told her again and again, you know, you need to stop this. And she started getting insistent, whatever. And I'm here to tell her to stop." He further claimed, "She said she was 18."

The vigilante group compiled incriminating footage, alongside other pieces of evidence, and promptly forwarded them to the Santa Monica Police Department.

 Messages, spanning back to May 2022, reportedly showcased Jarret's alleged grooming behavior toward the supposed underage girl. 

The phone number linked to Jarret's activities seemingly matched one previously documented in court records filed in Los Angeles in 2018.

As the investigation into Gabriel Jarret's alleged involvement in this pedophile sting operation unfolds, the actor's once-promising career now hangs in the balance.
