The congresswoman’s statements which pertain to CBP are as follows:
“We know that they have spoken in the most vile ways about immigrants. We know that they have certain views of what brown and black people deserve. So we should be having a conversation about eliminating their existence [and] reforming the agencies that deal with the most vulnerable, who are children and women.”
Rep. Omar said Congress should considering eliminating border patrol agencies this AM.
She claimed "rogue agencies" have been terrorizing immigrants trying to cross the border. https://t.co/8yyEOgFACA pic.twitter.com/mM456iEiMB

Finally, she stated that CBP agents are “terrorizing” migrants who choose to flee dangerous circumstances and illegally enter the United States.
Talk about the Elimination of Customs and Border Protection
As one might imagine, there are many people in this country, especially on the right-wing, who take issue with “eliminating” the existance of CBP. The crisis at the Southern border is very real and CBP does play a role in managing situations at the border. Last month, Omar supported House Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez when she stated that the United States government is sanctioning “concentration camps.” This likening to the Holocaust also attracted a fair amount of backlash.
