Cedars-Sinai denies allegations of retirement plan mismanagement, though its earlier motion to dismiss was rejected in February. The judge held that the plaintiffs adequately alleged excessive fees and poor investment performance under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).

A ruling on class certification is pending.

The case is Asia Fowler et al. v. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center et al., case number 5:23-cv-01124, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
