Earlier today, 2020 presidential hopeful Kamala Harris appeared on The Breakfast Club for an interview. During her time on air, Harris criticized other Democrat candidates who are rolling out various grand proposals.
DJ Envy, a host of The Breakfast Club, spoke out about the massive promises and proposals coming from Democrat candidates.
Kamala Harris on Other Democrats and their Promises
The issue of Democrats’ promises came up when DJ Envy mentioned the plethora of proposals coming from left-wing candidates. Envy noted that Democrats are promising free healthcare, free higher education, and reparations.
When asked about what Democrat candidates are truly capable of providing to the American people, Harris responded as follows:
“That’s why I’m not churning out plans like a factory. It is really important to me that any plan that I am prepared to implement is actually doable.”
Yesterday, Harris also touched upon her promises to the American people in general. She branded her in-party opponents’ plans as “aspirational.” Harris also stated that all of her proposals have a “how-to” and “can be done.”
Critcism of Left-Wing Proposals
Since the inception of the 2020 presidential election, Democrats have stood behind various policies which some Americans view as extreme. Medicare-for-All, a Green New Deal, the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), etc are some examples. Now, in response to criticism, Democrats claim that their policies will help working families.
This is debatable and something which conservatives have pushed back against. That’s because many left-wing policies cannot succeed without increasing taxes on Americans. Bernie Sanders, another Democrat candidate, admitted last month that the middle class will pay more in taxes if Medicare-for-All succeeds. Sanders furthermore stated that higher taxes for government-run healthcare is a trade-off which Americans will appreciate.

On Friday, Harris also appeared on The View where she discussed her plans in the event of her winning the 2020 presidential election. Specifically, Harris noted her focus on dealing with issues that wake families up early in the morning.
She stated that dealing with issues such as how families will pay their rent is more important than “upending the markets” or “transforming the system.”
