Throughout the Arizona 2022 gubernatorial election cycle, GOP candidate Kari Lake campaigned tenaciously to become the next governor of the state.

Lake talked about her policy plans on education, crime, the southern border, and more. She also partook in an Ask Me Anything Tour after Democratic opponent Katie Hobbs repeatedly turned down opportunities to debate her.

Though despite Hobbs being much more inaccessible than Lake on the campaign trail, she still won the Arizona governor's race.

Rather than concede her loss, Lake is now alleging election fraud in what's looking more and more like a 2.0 version of former President Trump's reaction to the 2020 presidential election.

Now, one of Lake's latest talking points asserts that election officials in Maricopa County, Arizona should be behind bars.

Lake's latest remarks on Maricopa County officials

Over the weekend, Lake spoke at a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix, Arizona. During her remarks, the Republican once again falsely asserted that she won the state's governor's race.

As for Maricopa County election officials, Lake deemed these folks as "crooks" deserving of being "locked up." Furthermore, the failed Arizona GOP candidate stated these officials "messed with the wrong b*tch" amid repeating false claims of a rigged election.

Lake believes this year's gubernatorial election was stolen from her because of problems with Maricopa County's tabulator machines on Election Day. However, despite these errors, the county provided multiple ways for people to still cast ballots and have their votes counted accordingly.

On Sunday, Lake informed the audience at Turning Point USA that she's willing to take her false claims of election fraud all the way to the Supreme Court if lower courts dismiss her case.

However, given the Supreme Court's refusal to hear other unsubstantiated cases mirroring Lake's claims, it is very likely the high court would reject hearing her case as well.

Kari Lake lost the Arizona governor's race by about 17,000 votes in a state that has a nearly even voter registration split between Republicans, Independents, and Democrats.

Integrating herself closely with former President Trump likely turned off some voters that Lake needed to win the race.

The same also possibly applies to the Arizona Republican openly ripping deceased Sen. John McCain before Election Day. This came on top of Lake telling GOP members who like McCain to "get the hell out" of an event where she was speaking.

There is no evidence whatsoever of fraud in the Arizona 2022 governor's race in any capacity. However, Lake's loss fits a larger pattern of Trump-endorsed candidates losing their general elections nationwide.
