While Lake mostly dodged the sanctions that Hobbs and Maricopa County pressed for, she does have to pay some legal bills of the Arizona governor-elect.
The latest ruling
Judge Thompson did not provide the sanctions requested against Lake. However, he did determine that the Arizona Republican has to cover the over $33,000 that Hobbs spent on legal fees, due to Lake’s post-election lawsuit.
This marks yet another loss for Lake, despite Hobbs and Maricopa County not getting the full extent of what they requested.
In a 2.0 version of Trump-era 2020 stunts, Lake vowed that her election lawsuit would prove fraud and prove she won. Instead, the end result is (another) confirmation from Judge Thompson that Hobbs is the election winner, coupled with Lake now having to cover tens of thousands of dollars of Hobbs’ litigation expenses.

Earlier today, Lake went before the Arizona Superior Court and filed an appeal to have the dismissal of her election lawsuit overturned. Lake furthermore wishes for the Arizona Supreme Court to review her case.
