Two years later, the must-have “Red October” dropped after months of canceled releases. The ‘Red October’ was the last shoe of Kanye’s collaboration with Nike. When the partnership ended the resell value for the shoes went through the roof. Kendrick Lamar seems to like his Nike Yeezy 2 Red October. He does look pretty dope (Is that still a word?)
Adidas Lands The Yeezy
Just like that, Kanye announced that he would continue the Yeezy Brand with Adidas. The new collaboration was huge news. Kanye was not happy with his royalty deal over at Nike, and Adidas offered him a generous royalty deal.
In 2015, the Adidas Yeezy Boost 750 was released. It came in a clean colorway with the famous cross-strap, a white boost sole and a zipper on the side. With the Yeezy Boost 750, the name ‘Yeezy’ became the epitome of hype. The shoe retailed for $350. These are on my personal shoe bucket list.
A New Yeezy is Born
Not long after, the Yeezy Boost 350 ‘Turtle Dove’ is launched. This was a low-top model with a flyknit upper and a white boost sole. The change from a hightop to low-top was received with extreme enthusiasm in the sneaker world. When Adidas announced the release date, people started camping out all over the world.
