Why Was Scalise Away?
Scalise sustained serious injuries from a baseball game shooting on June 14, 2017. The perpetrator of the attack was James Hodgkinson, a left wing, liberal Bernie supporter. The bullet which hit Scalise came from a rifle and punctured both of his hips. As a result of this, Scalise’s blood vessels, bones, and internal organs were seriously injured.
