Earlier today, North Korea slammed President Trump, alleging that the U.S. President is a "destroyer" who "begged for nuclear war during his time in Asia.

Statement from North Korea and President Trump

"His current trip to our surrounding region is a warmonger's visit for confrontation to rid the DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) of its self-defensive nuclear deterrence."

President Trump's response is as follows:

"The weapons you are acquiring are not making you safer, they are putting your regime in grave danger. Every step you take down this dark path increases the peril you face."

Fraught Relations with North Korea

North Korea's irritation was likely prompted by President Trump's appeal for various countries to cease trades and financial transactions with them:

"Together we have in our power to finally liberate this region and the world from this very serious nuclear menace, but it will require collective action, collective strength and collective devotion to winning the peace."

However, many people have made the case that North Korea brought this upon themselves. North Korea has repeatedly threatened nations and recklessly launched nuclear missiles around the world. Many world leaders may very well believe North Korea is unfit to have nuclear weapons in their possession.

North Korea also announced that they will be closely monitoring the President's time in Asia.
