Offset is recovering in a hospital after being injured in a shooting Monday evening at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, a sprawling entertainment complex just north of Miami.

According to Seminole police, officers were already on-site when gunfire erupted shortly after 7 p.m. in the valet area—an otherwise routine drop-off zone that suddenly turned into a scene of panic. Authorities said the situation was “contained quickly,” though the shockwaves lingered long after the last siren faded.

Investigators say the shooting followed a physical altercation that escalated rapidly, like a spark igniting dry tinder.

Detentions, Arrests, and Ongoing Investigation

Initially, police reported that two individuals had been detained in connection with the offset shot at hard rock hotel incident. By Tuesday morning, authorities clarified that one of those individuals would not face charges.

In an updated statement, Seminole police confirmed that another individual has been arrested, while the search continues for additional suspects.

“The investigation to identify one or more additional persons involved is ongoing,” officials said, signaling that the case remains far from closed.

Lil Tjay Detained, Charged—But Not for Shooting

Amid the confusion, Lil Tjay—whose real name is Tione Jayden Merritt—was detained at the scene and later charged with disorderly conduct. He was booked into Broward County Jail late Monday night.

Authorities emphasized that Lil Tjay has not been charged in connection with the shooting itself.

His attorney, Dawn M. Florio, pushed back strongly against circulating rumors.

“Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has he been charged with any shooting,” Florio said, urging the public to rely on verified reporting rather than speculation.

Personal Life in the Spotlight

Offset, known for his chart-topping music and high-profile lifestyle, was previously married to Cardi B. The couple quietly tied the knot in September 2017 and share three children.

However, their relationship has since unraveled. Cardi B filed for divorce in 2024, and reports indicate the split has been finalized.
