Despite the market turbulence, Microsoft remains committed to its long-term partnership with OpenAI, emphasizing support for Mira Murati and her team. The tech giant’s CEO, Satya Nadella, affirmed the continuation of meaningful technological advancements and benefits to the world. 

Reports suggest that Microsoft was caught off guard by Altman’s termination. And there is some uncertainty among teams actively developing products based on OpenAI’s technology.

Altman Founded the Company with Elon Musk

Sam Altman, a co-founder of OpenAI alongside Elon Musk in 2015, played a crucial role in the company’s transformation from a nonprofit to a for-profit entity in 2019.

 His departure follows the success of ChatGPT, a conversational AI released in November 2022, which is credited with creating the generative AI boom. The popular ChatGPT, initially built on the GPT-3.5 platform, quickly became a symbol of the evolving capabilities of AI technology.
