The news of her tragic death has sent shockwaves through the local community where she is well-known. On the weekend before she died the Baltimore Tech CEO visited with her friends at Artscape, a three-day art festival in the city.
LaPere, 26, attended Johns Hopkins University. She went on to become the founder of the data-curating startup EcoMap Technologies in Baltimore.
Councilman Mark Conway shared his memories of meeting LaPere at the event, where they “geeked out over Anderson, Paak, and environmental data.”
