Meanwhile, authorities arrested Williams who was hiding in a wooded area. He is facing possible charges of second-degree murder, first-degree assault on law officers, and resisting arrest.

Williams also has an extensive history including felony driving while revoked, robbery, and multiple weapons charges.

According to JCPD Chief Roger Schroeder, the officer who suffered an injury during the fatal shooting was released from the hospital on Thursday. He said, “Everything looks positive, and we expect a full recovery.”
