Disgraced former UPMC Radiologist Papachristou faces a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and a fine of $1,000,000 for unlawfully dispensing Schedule II controlled substances. Moreover, Papachristou is subject to a maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000 for the health care fraud charge. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
