When talking about the prospect of a female running mate, Sanders explained that women would receive his attention as a potential vice president; however, the Democratic-socialist added the caveat of the female prospects sharing his political views.
One of Sanders’ most outspoken female supporters is House Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. However, the congresswoman does not yet meet the age requirement to join the ticket as Sanders’ running mate. Nevertheless, the Democratic-socialist candidate has indicated that Ocasio-Cortez will have a place in his administration if he wins the presidency.
Sanders’ statements at today’s town hall came as Joe Biden also campaigned in the state. Former presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Cory Booker joined the former vice president after their recent endorsements of his campaign.
Will Sanders Win the Nomination?
At this time, the odds of Bernie Sanders winning the Democrat nomination appear quite slim. The DNC doesn’t seem on board with the prospect of Sanders as the party’s nominee, hence the multiple endorsements to Biden’s campaign.
