Sanders then stated that the alleged voter “suppression” from Trump and Republicans needs to be reviewed.
“Clearly, what Republicans are doing is trying to deny people of color the right to vote and this is an issue I think we have to address head-on.”
During Sanders time on CNN, he did not present facts or evidence to support his claims that Trump and the GOP are “working overtime” to stop various groups of Americans from voting.
Responses to Allowing Felons to Vote
As previously stated, Sanders’ statements about Trump and the GOP come amidst criticism over his support for incarcerated felons have voting rights; although, Republicans are not the only ones against this. Even certain Democrats, such as Cory Booker and Beto O’Rourke, have hesitated to publically get behind the idea of felons voting.
