Earlier this month, Moscow started its mass vaccination program to end the pandemic in the nation. However, scientists are still testing the efficacy and safety of Sputnik V. They have earlier raised issues about the speed at which Russia developed and approved the COVID-19 vaccine. It is unclear whether Kagansky was involved in the development of Sputnik V.

The Russian police are currently investigating Kagansky’s death.  They are interrogating a 45-year-old suspect, a biologist allegedly visiting the prominent Russian scientist.  according to E2news.com.
