If you've spent any amount of time on TikTok or Instagram, you've probably heard of gua sha. This is an ancient, East Asian form of skincare in which someone typically scrapes their face with a particular stone or tool.

Gua sha not only promotes lymphatic drainage and blood circulation. It can also assist with anti-aging, relief from puffiness, and more. On social media, many people frequently post about their experiences with gua sha. In many cases, this involves tutorial videos that allow viewers to gua sha in real-time as they familiarize themselves with the regimen.

While people can use several different types of stones or tools for this skincare routine, many gua sha aficionados regularly praise the terahertz stone.

A closer look at the terahertz gua sha

The terahertz gua sha stone is made of silicon. Well-known for its thermal conductivity and high oscillation frequency, terahertz stands out from other gua sha materials, as it can rapidly adapt to varying degrees of heat or cold.

When gua sha-ing with the terahertz stone, following the standard routine (making sure your face is clean and prepped with oil before scraping in set, firm motions) is imperative. In doing this, many users have touted the refreshing, soothing effects they feel after gua sha-ing with terahertz.

On platforms like TikTok, the terahertz gua sha has been credited for its ability to absorb the temperatures it comes into contact with. People also rave over terahertz's help with skin elasticity, boosting the immune system, and more.

Better than other gua sha materials?

With all sorts of available stones and tools for gua sha, finding the "best" one can be subjective. However, the terahertz gua sha consistently garners praise for the functions and capabilities that its counterparts lack.

For instance, many TikTok creators have posted videos of their terahertz gua shas breaking ice with very little effort. This is expressive of the stone's ability to absorb temperatures it makes direct contact with. Jade, pink quartz, and even stainless steel gua shas do not have the same capacity.

While terahertz gua shas are a bit pricier than the alternatives on Amazon, many gua sha fans would argue they're worth the investment.
