New reports from USA Today affirm that teenagers are now filming themselves snorting and inhaling condoms and then posting the footage on social media.

An Overview of the Condom Snorting Challenge

The Condom Snorting Challenge emerged weeks after the Tide Pod challenge where teenagers consumed literal Tide Pods and then posted about it on social media. However, the Condom Snorting Challenge is hardly any better. The aforesaid challenge entails unwrapping a condom, sticking the closed end in one of their nostrils, and then inhaling or “snorting” until the closed end comes out of their mouth.

Unfortunately, the participants of the Condom Snorting Challenge fail to understand the plethora of dangers associated with inhaling condoms. This act can irritate nose linings or even engender infections or allergic reactions. However, teenagers do not appear to be taking these risks into account.
