The Rise and Fall of Dan Bilzerian: From Instagram Playboy to Controversial Conspiracy Theorist

Dan Blitzerian Piers Morgan Interview

Dan Bilzerian made headlines in November 2024 during an interview on Piers Morgan’s YouTube show Uncensored, where he claimed that “the Jews” were responsible for John F. Kennedy’s assassination in an Israeli Mossad operation.

Once labeled a modern-day Hugh Hefner, Bilzerian’s public persona has dramatically shifted in recent years.

“Every single person that’s been critical of Israel has either been killed or thrown out of power and I don’t think that is a coincidence,” he stated during the interview, marking one of his most high-profile public appearances.

“Israel has dirt and blackmail on our politicians, that is the only way to explain why they put the interest of Israel above our country.”

Bilzerian also alleged that Jeffrey Epstein’s Island was a Mossad operation and described “Jewish supremacy” as the greatest threat to the world today.

His comments are not an isolated incident—his entire feed on X (formerly Twitter) is filled with antisemitic conspiracy theories and virulent anti-Israel remarks.

These posts signal how far Bilzerian, once famous for his extravagant lifestyle, has fallen in the public eye.

The Journey of Dan Bilzerian

Daniel Brandon Bilzerian, now 44 years old, is an American influencer and businessman who became a celebrity by flaunting his lavish lifestyle online.

Known as "Blitz," he showcased a gun-toting, hyper-masculine persona, boasting luxurious homes in Las Vegas, the Hollywood Hills, and Bel Air.

Bilzerian was once celebrated as the "King of Instagram," amassing 32 million followers by sharing images of high-stakes poker games, lavish parties, and scantily clad women. His persona blended wealth, power, and masculinity in a way that captivated audiences.

A Family Tied to Scandal

Despite his claims of self-made success, Bilzerian comes from a privileged background.

His father, venture capitalist Paul Bilzerian, built a multi-million-dollar fortune but was later convicted of tax and securities fraud. Paul spent time in prison, and Dan has suggested that his lack of parental attention fueled his desire to be flashy online.

While it remains unclear how much of Dan's wealth stems from his father’s activities, rumors persist that he benefited from ill-gotten gains.

Dan first rose to internet fame in 2010, showcasing his opulent lifestyle and claiming that his wealth came from gambling. However, many have questioned the legitimacy of his poker earnings and overall financial success.

Bilzerian briefly trained as a Navy SEAL but was reportedly discharged for disagreements with a superior.

His name became more widely known in 2017 when he shared firsthand footage from the Las Vegas concert shooting. Bilzerian was in the crowd at the event, filmed the chaos, and posted it to his Instagram stories.

Poker for Profit

Bilzerian began playing poker while attending the University of Florida, after leaving the Navy. He has played against Hollywood celebrities, including Tobey Maguire, Nick Cassavetes, and Mark Wahlberg, and even had a minor role in the 2013 film Lone Survivor alongside Wahlberg.

Though he once said he made $50 million in a single year from poker, this like some of his other claims remains unverified. Regardless, he used his reputation as a high-stakes player to bolster his online image.

The Setup: Dan Bilzerian Autobiography

In June 2021, Bilzerian published The Setup, an autobiography detailing his unorthodox childhood and rise to fame. In the book, he describes his desire to be among the richest and most famous people in the world, developing a strategy he called “the Setup” to achieve his hedonistic dreams.

However, during his Uncensored interview, Bilzerian admitted that his relentless pursuit of pleasure ultimately left him feeling empty. After nearly a year away from social media, he reflected on his past, revealing that his extreme lifestyle led to addiction cycles, seeking ever-greater thrills to sustain his highs.

Bilzerian has also spoken about his declining health due to excessive partying, drinking, and drug use, revealing that he suffered two heart attacks before the age of 32.

Financial Struggles and Business Ventures

Bilzerian still runs Ignite International Brands Ltd., which sells electronic cigarettes, CBD oils, water bottles, and vodka.

The company, headquartered in Toronto, Canada, became publicly traded in January 2019 under the ticker BILZF. However, financial reports indicate Ignite lost over $50 million in 2019, primarily due to excessive marketing and office rental expenses.

U.S. prosecutors have also accused Paul Bilzerian of retaining de facto control over Ignite, improperly funneling money into the company while owing over $180 million to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Selling His Lavish Lifestyle

Despite projecting immense wealth online, cracks in Bilzerian’s empire surfaced when Ignite filed for bankruptcy, revealing massive expenses and potential familial financial support. He has since pivoted to business and even dabbled in relationship advice.

One significant sign of his changing priorities was the sale of his Las Vegas mansion.

Originally priced at $25 million, the estate was a symbol of his extravagant lifestyle. Bilzerian has hinted at relocating overseas, possibly to Bali or Dubai, leaving many to wonder if he is permanently moving away from his former persona.

Bilzerian has never been a stranger to controversy. From his father’s legal troubles to accusations of misogyny and promoting gun culture, his name has long been associated with scandal.

More recently, Bilzerian has shifted his focus to extreme political views, gaining attention for antisemitic conspiracy theories.

He continues to use X as his primary platform, where his inflammatory rhetoric has found a dedicated, albeit controversial, audience.

Anti-Semitic Rhetoric Gets louder

In recent months, Bilzerian has posted about the Jewish holy book, the Talmud, to his 1.8 million X followers, sharing inaccurate and contextless graphics that portray Judaism in a negative light.

He has suggested that Jews believe they are superior to non-Jews and has propagated numerous antisemitic tropes.

“I’ve been researching religions & I have to say, I’m repeatedly shocked by Judaism,” Bilzerian wrote.

“We’ve been programmed that it’s okay and Jews are the chosen people, and I just disagree with that,” he continued. “I don’t like what they’ve done, I don’t like what their religion preaches, I don’t like what’s going on in Israel, I don’t like their influence over our government.”

Dan Bilzerian still manages Ignite International Brands and maintains an online presence, his transition from social media playboy to conspiracy theorist has alienated many of his former fans.

His ugly inflammatory statements continue to generate controversy, leaving his long-term influence uncertain.
