With cheers and applause from the in-studio audience and tears in his eyes, Mycoskie goes on to say that this multi million dollar donation is the largest donation to end gun violence in United States history. But, the Toms donation is only one part of the multi pronged approach the company is taking to decrease gun violence.
“We can give money… but the most important thing we can do is give every American an opportunity to act,” Mycoskie said. “So we developed a technology… on Toms.com.”
This technology will allow anyone to send a postcard for free to their representatives. The post card, according to Mycoskie, will urge the representative to pass a common sense gun law: Universal background checks.
“This is something the 90 percent of Americans are in favor of,” says Mycoskie to Fallon. “If every single American takes action like this, congress will listen.”
