He changed his story after Rudy Giuliani, who recently joined his legal team, told Fox News that the President reimbursed Cohen’s payment to the adult film star. Giuliani clarified that Trump did not use campaign money and he repaid Cohen a retainer of $35,000 over several months.
Trump “didn’t know about the specifics of [the payment], as far as I know, but he did know about the general arrangement that Michael would take care of things like this. Like I take care of things like this for my clients. I don’t burden them with every single thing that comes along,” said Giuliani.
