According to them, the legislation has 24 co-sponsors including 12 Republicans. Senators Lindsey Graham(R-SC) and Bill Cassidy (R-La), and John McCain (R-Arizona) are among the co-sponsors of the compromise agreement.
Graham and Cassidy are the authors of the recent GOP legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare, which was killed by McCain.
In an interview with Politico, Graham said Trump told him, “I want a deal. I want to get something for this money.” The senator explained to the President that under the Graham-Cassidy bill, the CSR payments will continue. He needs to do something to stabilize the markets for the meantime.

According to Graham, “I told him [Trump] that if Graham-Cassidy became law tomorrow. You’ve got to do something in the interim period. You’ve got two or three years before this thing gets implemented. You can’t save Obamacare but you can keep the markets from collapsing until we get a replacement…”
