Russian soldiers captured in drone footage show the murder of an unarmed Ukrainian motorist. 

The drone footage was first published by German broadcaster ZDF. 

Chilling drone footage

The images are shocking. The video was taken on March 7, 2022, at 2:16 pm by a Ukrainian surveillance drone on the E40 expressway a few miles west of Kyiv. It is confirmed that Russian forces were shelling nearby in the residential suburb of Ipin on the same date.

The drone footage shows cars making U-turns as Russian soldiers get out of their tank. The tank parked on the side of the highway heading towards the capital city of Kyiv.

The other cars turn around and speed off. But a small silver-gray car comes to a stop in front of another car. The other car is parked at an odd angle with its doors open. 

The man driving the silver car gets out and runs around his car. He has his hands held high in the air. Then he collapses. And although the video has no sound. It is apparent he has been shot.

Armed soldiers wearing the white bands to ID them as Russian run up to the car, where the driver remains apparently lifeless on the ground.

The soldiers are seen pulling a woman and child out of the silver-gray car. They drag the man’s body to the side of the road. And it is left in plain sight.

The woman and child were then led away to a wooded area. The drone footage did not capture what happened to them.

War crime images confirmed

ZDF reporter Arndt Ginzel tracked down the Ukrainian drone operator. He is Zanoza, a member of the Bugatti Company volunteer group. And says his job is to track the invading forces as they move towards the capital.

The time stamp and geo-tracking information all appeared to verify the images captured by Zanoza’s drone.

It was also confirmed that the troops and tank all had Russian markings. And that the service station that can be seen in the footage has run out of gas and is closed. 

When the footage is compared to location maps it is easy to identify. The scene of the sad events can be found on Google Maps. There is a gas station, an adjacent forest, and a house shown on the footage and maps.  

In the meantime, Russian forces were shelling Ipin at the time of this alleged war crime.

Russia has repeatedly denied targeting civilians in what it calls a “special military operation.”  And they still deny civilians are being killed as the casualty's mount. 

This drone footage is just one of hundreds of war crimes Ukraine is trying to make public. Because in any war it is a crime to shoot an unarmed man with his hands raised. And it is also a war crime to murder women and children in the woods.

 Images of the bodies of people at bombed out hospitals and apartment buildings appear online. And it seems probable that there are bodies beside the highway and in the woods on the highway to Kyiv.
