GRIDLEY, Sutter County - In a devastating incident that unfolded on Friday, a woman and a one-year-old child lost their lives in a horrific head-on crash.

The victims have been identified as 21-year-old Allyson Nohelia Navarro-Salazar, a resident of Gridley, and an unnamed baby from the same town.

The collision occurred on Highway 99 and Paseo Road, a short distance south of Live Oak, as confirmed by investigators.

Woman and Baby Killed: The Tragic Incident

The catastrophic event transpired shortly after 6:30 p.m., shattering the tranquility of the area.

Prior to the fatal crash, reports indicate that the suspected individual responsible for the tragedy had already been involved in a separate collision in Live Oak.

Recklessly heading southbound on Highway 99, just north of Paseo Road, the suspect's exact speed remains unknown.

Meanwhile, Navarro-Salazar was driving her vehicle northbound on Highway 99, unaware of the impending disaster.

Tragically, the suspect veered across the double yellow lines, sideswiping a vehicle before crashing head-on into Navarro-Salazar's car.

The force of the impact was immense and resulted in a subsequent collision involving a fourth vehicle.
