The existence of the first-ever space hurricanes was confirmed by scientists.  Satellite images were captured in August 2014. It has taken 7 years for the experts to validate in their report “A space hurricane over the Earth’s polar ionosphere”

The images reveal a 620-mile-wide massive space disturbance. The phenomenon was spotted over the North Pole, swirling in the Earth’s upper atmosphere. The gyrating mass remained in-place for around 8 hours.

In earth-bound hurricanes, bands of rain and wind are in rotation around the eye of the hurricane. Space hurricanes have a plasma-like substance mixed with an electric charge circulating around an unmistakable center.

Like earth-bound hurricanes, the space variety has a spiraling pattern. But instead of wind, the space hurricane flows plasma.  The plasma moves faster and stronger from the edge to the center. The phenomenon is fueled by rapid transfers of charged energy (solar wind). And instead of water, they rain electrons!

Unusual hurricanes caused by solar winds

Researchers and scientists believe that the plasma is actually made up of clouds of charged particles otherwise known as the solar wind.
