Things have not gone well for Andrew Tate so far in 2023. Since late December, he's found himself imprisoned in Romania, due to allegations of human trafficking, along with rape and organized crime.

Law enforcement in Romania alleged to have identified at least six victims whom Tate and his brother, Tristan (also in lockup since late December) targeted and pretended to harbor romantic feelings for before trafficking them on webcams.

Andrew Tate, in his own videos, in interviews, and on his website, has openly admitted to the following acts:

• Not allowing women in his home to leave
• Dating, sleeping with, and "testing" women "to see if they're quality" before putting them on webcams
• "Force pimping"

Because of this and other details discovered by Romania's anti-organized crime division, DIICOT, Tate's detention will last until at least March 29.

Though earlier this week, new developments revealed that Tate now has lung cancer.

What to know about Tate's reported lung cancer

Medical records belonging to Tate that have since been leaked suggest Tate may have a "malignant" carcinoid tumor on his upper right lung. This would medically diagnose him with lung cancer.

It's also been reported that ahead of Tate's arrest in December 2022, he traveled to Dubai for the purpose of getting medical care. During at least one consultation, the accused human trafficker was allegedly informed that he needed further medical care.

A spokesperson for Tate since informed the media one of his lungs has a "dark spot" that's a possible "tumor."

Back in January, Tate is believed to have had additional medical appointments scheduled in Dubai. Though following his arrest for rape, organized crime, and human trafficking, Tate could not make these appointments.

In a multitude of Tate's videos, he's seen smoking cigars frequently. It is unknown if this contributed to his lung cancer.

What comes next?

Everyone will have to stay tuned to learn what comes next for Andrew Tate. The same also goes for the accused human trafficker's health and how it holds up while he's incarcerated.

Closer to March 29, Romania will likewise have to determine whether or not to extend Tate's detention time once more.

So far, judges in the country warn that Tate not only poses a flight risk. They furthermore warn he's demonstrated a propensity to prey on vulnerable persons before exploiting them.
