Since Thursday, President Biden has found himself in the hot seat. While debating Trump, Biden appeared visibly fatigued, often speaking in a winded and out-of-breath manner.

Following this debate, a new poll revealed that a staggering 72% of voters believe the president lacks the health to carry out another term in office. At the same time, 45% of Democratic voters think Biden shouldn't keep his campaign going.

For what it's worth, some Democrats and left-wing voters have rallied to the president's defense. Folks in this camp often point to Biden's term so far as evidence that he should be granted another one.

Though despite the backlash and adverse polling, an announcement from Biden's campaign reveals the president is far from finished.

$33 million raked in post-debate

Earlier today, an official with the Biden campaign revealed that over $33 million in funds has come in since Thursday. At least $26 million of this is reported as grassroots donations. Citing last week's debate night as the "best grassroots fundraising day," the campaign aide stated Friday also saw lots of money pouring in.

Just yesterday, the Biden reelection team also swatted away calls for the president to bow out. They feel the "horse race" remains unchanged and will continue working to win the votes of the American people.

At this time, Biden stands as the de facto nominee of the Democrat Party. He's expected to officially accept the nomination in August when the Democrats hold their convention.

Big names like former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and others have made a point of showing support for Biden. During a conversation with the media, Newsom even described calls for the president to step down as "unhelpful."

Biden addresses his poor debate performance

On Friday, the president traveled to North Carolina to rally with supporters. It was during this appearance that Biden admitted he doesn't speak, walk, or debate as well as he did during his younger years.

In spite of that, the president insisted he knows how to tell the truth, get the job done, and determine right from wrong. Will this carry weight with the American people? Only time will tell.
