In his interview, DePape describes breaking into the Pelosi home in upscale Pacific Heights. Outdoor surveillance video shows it took him less than a minute to get inside.

He smashed the glass back patio door. And claimed “That is like special glass. I was actually getting pretty winded at that point.”

He began wandering through the house until he came upon a sleeping Paul Pelosi. Speaker Pelosi was in Washington at the time of her husband’s attack.

Bizarre kidnapping attempt

After the intruder woke up Paul Pelosi, he attempted to tie him up with zip ties.

David DePape was planning to hold Nancy Pelosi “hostage” and talk to her. “If she told the truth I’d let her go scot-free,” he said. “If she (expletive) lied, I was going to break her kneecaps. DePape said he knew “without a doubt” she would lie.

“I kind of told him, ‘I’m looking for Nancy Pelosi.’

He said, ‘She’s not here.’ … He was like, ‘How can we resolve this?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know,’” DePape said. “I’m like, ‘Honestly, can I tie you up? I just want to (expletive) go to sleep.”

Bizarre 911 call

Pelosi was able to briefly escape and make his way into a bathroom to call 911. A transcript of the call, also released Friday, suggests Pelosi was on the phone for about 45 seconds before DePape starts knocking, and his voice comes onto the call.
