DeSantis Stresses the Need For President Who’s Not “Pushing 80”

Recent polling has shown the Florida governor remains far from alone in this view. More than half of Americans support putting age limits on candidates holding federal offices. On social media, age caps proposed include 75, 70, and even 65.

In further comments on CNN, DeSantis stated that Biden in office constitutes a prime example of the problems that can emerge with having very old presidents in the White House.

DeSantis also pointed out that if 77-year-old Trump won re-election in 2024, he’d be older at the onset of his second term than soon-to-be 81-year-old Joe Biden was when he first took office.

The Florida governor finally made a point of noting that he’s currently in his prime, while neither Trump nor Biden can say the same.
