Facebook removes Chinese propaganda network targeting the Philippines, Southeast Asian countries

The network is also posting content supportive of President Rodrigo Duterte and Sarah Duterte’s potential presidential in 2022, praises and some criticisms on China, criticisms of Rappler, an independent news website in the Philippines.

It previously posted content supporting or against presidential candidates, Joe Biden, Donald Trump, Pete Buttigieg. It is also commenting or clicking “like” on other people’s posts particularly about naval activities in the South China Sea including U.S. Navy ships.

Facebook previously eliminated some of the Chinese propaganda network’s Pages for violating its inauthentic behavior and spam policies.

Facebook removes propaganda network linked to Philippine military and police

The social network giant also removed another government propaganda network that originated in the Philippines, focusing on Filipino users.

The network has 57 accounts and 31 Pages on Facebook as well as 20 accounts on Instagram. Facebook eliminated all of these from both social media platforms.
