Moab police later conceded that “unintentional mistakes” were made in questioning a distraught Petito near Arches National Park. And referred to it as a “bungled traffic stop.” Police let the pair go without any charges. And were under the mistaken impression that Petitio was the abuser.
Eric Pratt is one of the Moab, Utah cops being sued. And he has separately been accused of threatening to kill an ex-mistress.
Gabby’s parents, Nichole Schmidt, and Joseph Petito were awarded $5 million in its wrongful death lawsuit against the parents of Brian Laundrie.
