Gov. Wolf Signs Bill that Boosts Protections for Domestic Violence Victims

Furthermore, Gov. Wolf emphasized that Pennsylvania’s lower chamber needs to pass the domestic violence bills approved by the Senate. According to him, Senate Bill 501 will fix an existing law that allows domestic abusers possess guns.

“We know that many domestic abusers use firearms to harm their victims, as was the case with Tierne…, said Gov. Wolf. He added, “I thank the Senate for its work and ask the House to vote on these commonsense measures now.”

On the other hand, Sen. Bartolotta, said, “Tierne’s senseless death was devastating to all of the friends and family who loved her. Today, we honor her memory with this important step towards protecting domestic violence victims who are still in danger.”
