The attorneys met with investigators from the Democratic-led Senate Finance Committee and the Republican-led House Ways and Means Committee in a private session.

The whistleblower alleges that Delaware US Attorney David Weiss, overseeing the case, faces obstacles due to political interference by appointees.

This contradicts Attorney General Merrick Garland’s testimony to Congress, in which he assured that Weiss has full authority to make decisions regarding the prosecution of President Joe Biden’s son.

The attorneys claim that their client, an IRS criminal supervisory special agent, has been overseeing a sensitive investigation involving Hunter Biden.

The investigation into Hunter’s alleged tax crimes, corruption, and false statements has been ongoing for years during the terms of three attorney generals. Federal prosecutors have considered bringing charges against him but have not done so to date.

Hunter Biden has maintained his innocence throughout the investigation.
