Scarborough on Trump 2020

The Morning Joe co-host started off his op-ed by describing the Trump campaign as a “publicity stunt gone wildly wrong.” From this point, Scarborough proceeds to elaborate on what he views as the pitfalls of the Trump Presidency. First comes the assertion that President Trump is a “bumbling bigot” who dislikes the free press. While many of the President’s critics have made this claim, conservatives have pushed back.

The Commander-in-Chief and many of his backers believe the media has misrepresented the words and actions of President Trump since the inception of his campaign for office. Therefore, the birth of the term ‘fake news’ emerged. However, while conservatives and Trump supporters have criticized what they view as a dishonest press, critics of the President have opined that the aforementioned criticisms are assaults on the free press altogether.
