In an interview with USA Today, Kaley Cuoco revealed that she used a body double for sex scenes in her new Peacock series, Based on a True Story. The actress, who has been in the industry since the '90s, expressed that she is "past" filming such scenes and prefers to let someone else handle them.

Cuoco, known for her roles in 8 Simple Rules, The Big Bang Theory, and The Flight Attendant, appreciates the “movie magic” in her latest project. And she is grateful

"I don't roll that way. I need someone else to do that stuff," Cuoco stated. "I'm not doing that anymore. Also, who wants to see that? Not my thing." She emphasized that with advancements in special effects and movie magic, there is no longer a need for her to personally film those scenes.

“I’d rather let someone else do it, and that’s what movie magic is for. We don’t have to do those things anymore. We can have someone else do it, and we can fake our way through,” she said.

And then added, “You think that Chris Messina played tennis? Please! He was terrible! That’s his double.”

Kaley Cuoco describes pregnancy while filming

During the filming of Based on a True Story, Cuoco was pregnant with her first child. This further motivated her to rely on her body double, especially for demanding fight scenes.

"I had to be on my feet a lot. It was a lot," Cuoco explained. "And by the end, I was nine months pregnant. So the fight scene at the end near the grave − the fantasy − a lot of that was done by my double because it was like I was literally about to give birth, like any second."

Cuoco welcomed her daughter, Matilda, into the world on March 30, 2023.

Embracing her pregnancy, Cuoco expressed her gratitude for being able to showcase it on screen.

The producers even encouraged her to eat more for the role, a first for the actress. "You've seen every part of my life − good and bad − in front of everyone. And so it was kind of cool to show this too," Cuoco shared.

"Why not just own it and wear short shirts and let my stomach hang out? I did the swimsuit scene... And I'm very proud of it, and I hope it inspires other women to be like, 'It's fine. We can still do it all.'"

Fans can now enjoy Cuoco's new series, Based on a True Story, streaming on Peacock.
