In an interview with USA Today, Kaley Cuoco revealed that she used a body double for sex scenes in her new Peacock series, Based on a True Story. The actress, who has been in the industry since the ’90s, expressed that she is “past” filming such scenes and prefers to let someone else handle them.
Cuoco, known for her roles in 8 Simple Rules, The Big Bang Theory, and The Flight Attendant, appreciates the “movie magic” in her latest project. And she is grateful
“I don’t roll that way. I need someone else to do that stuff,” Cuoco stated. “I’m not doing that anymore. Also, who wants to see that? Not my thing.” She emphasized that with advancements in special effects and movie magic, there is no longer a need for her to personally film those scenes.
“I’d rather let someone else do it, and that’s what movie magic is for. We don’t have to do those things anymore. We can have someone else do it, and we can fake our way through,” she said.
And then added, “You think that Chris Messina played tennis? Please! He was terrible! That’s his double.”

During the filming of Based on a True Story, Cuoco was pregnant with her first child. This further motivated her to rely on her body double, especially for demanding fight scenes.
