LaVar Ball Explains Why He Won’t Thank President Trump

On Monday night, LaVar Ball, the father of one of the recently freed UCLA basketball players, went on CNN and explained why he refused to thank President Trump for releasing the players from Chinese custody, as reported by Breitbart News.

Ball gave the following remarks regarding his refusal to thank President Trump:

“I would have said thank you if he put him on his plane and took him home. Then I would have said thank you, Mr. Trump, for taking my boys out of China and bringing them back to the U.S. There’s a lot of room on that plane. I would have said thank you kindly for that.”

Many Americans who viewed Ball’s Monday night CNN interview expressed feelings of shock. They also questioned whether or not Ball was truly keeping up with the interview, what was being said, and the questions that Chris Cuomo asked him.

Moreover, Americans noted that Ball’s attitude about the President not putting the players on Air Force One was weird. After all, had President Trump not spoken with the Chinese President, the three UCLA players would likely still be in the custody of the Chinese government.
